What would Reform's 50 billion pound welfare cut change?
Reform UK's Robert Jenrick proposed scrapping Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit's health element for working-age claimants to cut the welfare bill by 50 billion pounds yearly. Nearly 3 million of 7 million claimants would see payments withdrawn or reduced over a four year reassessment, with a new allowance for the severely ill. Labour called the plan fantasy economics, and Conservatives accused Reform of flip-flopping.
