Wayne Rooney has been named pundit of the year at the Broadcast Sport Awards after his BBC work at the 2026 World Cup. The former Manchester United and England captain, now 41, won viewers with blunt analysis, including calling the final half-time show crap live on air. He said broadcasting proved harder than expected and he wants to improve after a tough spell in management.
