Vance Pakistan trip on hold as Iran talks stall
With hours until the ceasefire expires, the diplomatic track with Tehran is teetering. Vice President JD Vance was due to fly to Islamabad this morning, but instead went to the White House for fresh meetings with Pete Hegseth and officials after Iran refused to confirm its delegation. A US government plane bound for Pakistan via Europe turned back to Washington around noon. Pakistan says the truce expires at 7:50pm Eastern tonight.
