Protesters threw rocks and petrol bombs at police guarding the education ministry in Tirana on Saturday, and police fired tear gas and water cannon back. Police figures showed 500 people detained, 330 of them later released, with 120 officers and 45 protesters recorded as injured. Rama, in power since 2013, has refused to resign and blames the opposition and unnamed foreign actors.
