US repays £74bn after Trump's import taxes ruled illegal
The refund covers about 60% of the money taken before America's highest court ruled the original policy unlawful in February. Customs authorities confirmed the totals on Tuesday, but the president has already applied a fresh set of taxes to over 80 nations. A group of 25 American states launched a lawsuit this week to stop these replacement charges, which hit UK and European goods.
