Unseen Houdini Essay Published 100 Years After His Death

Unknown photographer, Library of Congress, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons

A previously unpublished essay by escape artist Harry Houdini has been printed for the first time, marking 100 years since his death on Halloween 1926. Called An Interesting Scrapbook, it appears in The Strand Magazine and pays tribute to forgotten 19th-century American magicians. A new book also disputes his official cause and date of death, as seances and other events are held worldwide this weekend.
