Wild Beavers to Return to Loch Ness After 500 Years

Wild beavers are set to return to the waters around Loch Ness for the first time in about five hundred years. NatureScot has licensed charities Trees for Life and Beaver Trust to release up to fifteen beaver families over three years, possibly starting next month. Sites will be revealed only after release, and animals will be relocated from farmland elsewhere in Scotland after health screening.
