UKHSA Issues Amber Heat Alerts As UK Hits 35C

The UK Health Security Agency issued amber heat alerts for the East Midlands, East of England, London and the South East as temperatures reach 35C. The alerts run from 9am Wednesday to 9am Thursday and warn of a likely rise in deaths among people over 65 or with health conditions. It is the UK's fourth heatwave of 2026, after episodes in May, June and July.
