UK summons Israeli diplomat over plans for 1,200 West Bank settlement homes
Ed Miliband, the foreign secretary, warned the building project threatens to cut off the occupied territory from East Jerusalem and wreck a two-state solution. He told the Israeli envoy on Wednesday that the Starmer government will soon announce fresh measures to defend a future Palestinian state. Israel’s foreign minister, Gideon Sa'ar, rejected the complaints, arguing British policy is driving antisemitic attacks in the UK.
