UK imports Spanish vegetables after drought and heat hit crops

This year's extreme heat and drought mean that Spanish lettuce and broccoli are being purchased by pubs, restaurants, and supermarkets. Wholesale prices for tomatoes are up over 60%, iceberg lettuce 90%, and potatoes more than 40%. Farmers are requesting government assistance to fund additional water storage for future summers.
