UK, France, Germany, Italy and Canada condemn Israel's West Bank settlement project

The UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Canada have called Israel's decision to build 1,200 new homes in the occupied West Bank "unacceptable." Israel's housing ministry issued a tender on Wednesday for the homes in the E1 area, which critics say would cut the West Bank in two. The UN Secretary-General additionally remarked that the E1 plan presents an "existential threat" to a contiguous Palestinian state.
