UK children under 18 will get forced breaks from AI chatbots
The government will make AI chatbots impose mandatory breaks on under-18s to tackle emotional dependency, as part of new rules published on Thursday. Chatbots offering sexual relationships will be completely closed to under-18s, and all chatbots must verify age for sexually explicit interactions. The MHRA, which regulates medicines, will also help address chatbots giving children mental health advice.
