Trump warns Iran will be hit hard if Hormuz stays closed

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran will face severe consequences if it does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, however, denies any direct talks with the US, stating it is only negotiating with Oman for a temporary shipping route. Maritime trade traversing the strait has experienced a reduction in speed, decreasing by approximately 28% over the past few days.
