Former President Donald Trump declined to issue an apology after a video shared on his Truth Social account portrayed Barack and Michelle Obama as apes. The clip stayed online for roughly 12 hours before being removed. Trump said he had only watched the segment alleging voter fraud and was unaware of how the video ended. Senator Tim Scott condemned the post as overtly racist, leading White House allies to withdraw earlier justifications and instead attribute the post to an internal staff error.
