Trump drops promise to let Ukraine build its own Patriot defence missiles
Speaking to his top team at the Camp David presidential retreat, he said handing over such advanced weaponry was simply too risky. He argued foreign allies could eventually turn the 8,600mph rockets against America, despite discussing the project with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday. Instead of setting up factories abroad, Washington will focus on manufacturing the interceptors back home to rebuild its own supplies.
