Trump demands Iran pay victims to reopen vital oil strait

The US president made the demand on Monday after Tehran asked America for money over military strikes five months ago. He wrote online that unlocking the Strait of Hormuz, a critical Middle Eastern shipping route, will require payouts to victims. This waterway usually handles a fifth of the world's oil, but it has been shut since February.
