The 2026 Tour de France kicks off on Saturday, 4 July, with a team time trial in Barcelona, marking the first time since 2019 for this format. Riders' times will be taken individually at the uphill finish, a new approach for this stage. The race then moves into the Pyrenees foothills before heading towards sprint finishes in Pau and Bordeaux.
