Taiwan hit by AI-assisted cyber-attacks from overseas last month

Taiwan's Ministry of Digital Affairs detected an "abnormal attack" on government agencies starting on 20 July, which used AI agents to build an autonomous hacking tool. An Israeli AI company, Dream, reported that the tool gained unauthorised access to a minimum of 85 government user accounts and retrieved more than 2,500 personnel records.
