Streeting avoids committing to 3% defence spending target by 2030

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting repeatedly refused to back a target of spending 3% of GDP on defence by 2030 during interviews on Thursday. He warned that promising such a target without a clear funding plan could be costly for Britain. Streeting did confirm his commitment to the UK's overall defence goals and pledges made to NATO.
