St Barts hospital received funding from slave trade investors
New research reveals at least 50 individuals with financial ties to the transatlantic trafficking of enslaved Africans donated to St Bartholomew's Hospital. These wealthy donors, many commemorated in the Great Hall, helped fund the London hospital and other charities.
