Spanish intelligence knew of Ceuta mass crossing plans before 30 July
Newly released government documents reveal Spanish intelligence had prior notice of social media discussions encouraging a large-scale migrant entry into Ceuta. On 29 July, the National Intelligence Service (CNI) in Spain informed Moroccan and Ceuta officials that various groups were urging migrants to attempt a crossing. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had previously said the events of 30 and 31 July were impossible to predict.
