Sadiq Khan backs legal limits on workplace heat during UK heatwaves
UK law sets minimum workplace temperatures but has no legal upper limit, even as some workplaces have topped 40C during recent heatwaves. Sadiq Khan backed calls for a legal cap after unions and the Climate Change Committee urged ministers to better protect workers from extreme heat. The government says it doesn’t plan a mandatory limit but will consult through the Health and Safety Executive.
