The Russian intelligence ship Viktor Leonov watched Exercise Strike Warrior, involving over 2,000 service members from six Nato countries near the Outer Hebrides. Merlin helicopters from Cornwall tracked it from 29 September to 8 October, and HMS Tyne later shadowed the landing ship Aleksandr Shabalin. The Navy also tracked the frigate Neustrashimy as it accompanied sanctioned cargo vessels through the English Channel.
