Tens of thousands of volunteers helped build 108 sacred Buddhist stupas along a riverbank in Bhutan on Sunday. These 15-metre-tall monuments are part of the new Gelephu Mindfulness City, which Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck hopes will boost the economy. The city aims to attract investment in green technology, education, and tourism, with an international airport opening in 2029.
