Russell Brand's trial on three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault opened at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday. Prosecutor Riel Karmy-Jones told the jury that six women, who did not know each other, allege offences dating from 1999 to 2009. Prosecutors described Brand as ruthless, calculated and manipulative. Brand has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.
