Rogue drones target UK military sites daily as Russia threat grows

Drone incidents at or near UK Ministry of Defence sites have risen sharply, with 340 reported in the year to August 2026. Experts say this reflects a lack of government security, with Russia and Iran likely culprits behind hostile activity. The government says it's investing £750m in counter-drone systems and creating new restricted airspace.
