Petition to ban NYC mayor from 9/11 ceremony gets 72,000 signatures
More than 72,000 people have signed a petition to bar New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani from the 25th annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Organisers, including a 9/11 widower, claim his alleged support for "anti-American" figures would disrespect victims. Mayor Mamdani stated he will "proudly" attend the ceremony next month, and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will not prevent him.
