Paul Nicholls moved within one win of Martin Pipe's all-time British jumps training record after Rubaud stormed home in the BetMGM Haldon Gold Cup at Aintree. Sam Twiston-Davies rode the 4-1 chance to a six-and-a-half-length win over JPR One. Nicholls said the race was probably Rubaud's Gold Cup and floated a Tingle Creek tilt next. The result dominated Friday's Aintree jumps card.
