Northern Lights Paint UK and US Skies in Vibrant Colors
The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, have recently been visible across the UK and parts of the US, as far south as Florida. These stunning displays of green, pink, and other hues are caused by solar eruptions that send particles towards Earth, interacting with gases in the atmosphere. Geomagnetic storms have increased the visibility, with oxygen atoms creating green and nitrogen atoms emitting purple, blue, and pink.
