Nine EU countries delay new border checks for UK travellers

At least nine EU countries have reportedly delayed implementing the Entry-Exit System (EES) for British and other non-EU citizens. The system, which mandates a facial scan and fingerprints on each occasion, commenced operation in October last year. France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Malta, Portugal, Italy, and Switzerland have permission to postpone the scheme to "maintain border fluidity" after earlier problems.
