NatWest cut about 1,000 full-time jobs in the three months to September, taking its total for the year to 1,400, as it leans on technology including AI tools. The bank made an operating pre-tax profit of £2.2bn, up about 2%. It also made cost savings of about £420m. Chief executive Paul Thwaite said roles were changing and would not say whether more cuts were coming.
