Budget Cuts Mean UK Likely to Miss Heat Pump Targets, Experts Warn

Experts warn Britain is unlikely to hit its green heating targets after Chancellor John Healey cut £741m from the boiler upgrade scheme to help fund defence, which gives households £7,500 towards a heat pump. Funding will rise only with inflation, slowing plans to lift installations from 60,000 to 250,000 a year by 2030. The energy department insists it remains committed to its heat pump target.
