Myanmar will take back 300,000 Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh
Myanmar's military-backed government says it has verified over 300,000 Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh as former residents of Rakhine state. They will be allowed to return once security improves in the region, which has seen ongoing fighting since a 2021 army takeover. The Rohingya crisis is now in its ninth year, with many refugees still living in camps after fleeing violence in 2017.
