Milburn Review To Give Councils Powers On Youth Unemployment

Milburn Review To Give Councils Powers On Youth Unemployment

UK Government, OGL v3.0, via Wikimedia Commons

Alan Milburn's review of youth unemployment is expected to recommend handing local leaders new powers and funding to get young people into work, reports suggest. The plan would include a guarantee of a job, training place or apprenticeship for young people who engage. More than one million young people are not in work, education or training, which the review says costs Britain £125bn a year.
