Mexico boosts tourist security after pyramid attack
Mexican tourist hotspots are about to see a lot more security after Monday's deadly pyramid shooting. The government said today it will boost police presence at archaeological sites and other tourist landmarks ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after a gunman killed a Canadian tourist and wounded 13 others at Teotihuacán. Security analysts warned that the focus on tourist areas may leave more crime-torn regions short of officers.
