Mercedes W17 edges closer to 2026 weight limit in early technical reveal
Mercedes has offered a first look at the engineering direction of its 2026 Formula 1 car, with weight control emerging as a central priority under the updated regulations. The W17 is believed to be around 772kg in its present configuration, narrowly exceeding the revised FIA limit. Further reductions are planned before the season opener in Australia, which would give engineers more scope to position ballast strategically.
