Man Dies After Fall While Tying Flags to Lampposts

Paul John Lumber, a 61-year-old painter and decorator, died on December 6th after falling from a ladder while tying Union Jack flags to lampposts in Bedminster, Bristol on November 22nd. Lumber had been drinking alcohol after watching a Bristol City football match. Neighbors found him after hearing a loud bang. An inquest concluded his death was accidental, resulting from a traumatic brain injury.
