Essex Police have arrested a man in his 30s in Westcliff-on-Sea after a video appeared to show someone spitting on the statue of murdered MP Sir David Amess in Southend. He is being questioned on suspicion of a public order offence and criminal damage. The now-deleted TikTok clip emerged days after the fifth anniversary of his killing, and his family said they were deeply upset.
