The Conservatives' former director of campaigning, Anthony Lee, and his wife Laura have been given suspended prison sentences after admitting cheating at gambling on the date of the 2024 general election. Southwark Crown Court heard Lee used inside information from a private meeting called by then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The couple stood to win more than £23,000. A third person, Amy Hind, was also sentenced.
