London to see biggest partial solar eclipse in 27 years on August 12

Next month, the moon will obscure approximately 90% of the sun, commencing at 6:17pm for those in London. The Royal Observatory reports that this will be the most significant partial solar eclipse seen in the UK for more than 25 years. Greenwich Park, Primrose Hill, and Alexandra Palace are some of the best places to watch it safely.
