London Named World's Slowest Capital for Driving in 2025
London has been identified as the world's slowest capital for driving, with an average speed of three minutes and 38 seconds to travel one kilometer in the city center in 2025. Widespread 20mph speed limits are a key factor, a policy championed by Mayor Sadiq Khan to reduce road casualties. More than half of London's roads now have this lower limit. Location technology company TomTom's study included 492 towns and cities.
