American skier Lindsey Vonn, 41, crashed 13 seconds into her 2026 Winter Olympic downhill run on February 8, suffering a complex tibia fracture in her left leg. Vonn, who competed despite tearing her ACL on January 30, clipped a gate and spiraled into the snow before being airlifted to a Treviso hospital. Doctors performed surgery to stabilize the fracture, though Vonn revealed on Instagram that she requires multiple additional surgeries to fully repair the damage.
