Japan flags 'serious concern' over Israeli military operations in Lebanon

Japan expressed serious concern over Israeli military operations in Lebanon that have killed nearly 2,000 people since early March. The statement marked one of Tokyo's strongest public criticisms of Israel's conduct during the war. Japan joins a growing list of countries including France, Italy and Turkey that have condemned the escalating strikes on Lebanese territory despite the US-Iran ceasefire.
