Jaguar Land Rover Hack Was State-Sponsored, Says Ex-Minister

Laurie Noble / House of Commons, CC BY 3.0, via UK Parliament

Former defence minister Al Carns has said last year's cyber-attack on Jaguar Land Rover was state-sponsored, the first such acknowledgement by a government figure, the Telegraph reports. He made the remarks at a Chatham House event in July but said they were not based on an official assessment. The hack halted production for about five weeks and is estimated to have cost up to £2.1bn.
