Serbia's veteran leader Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat in a snap parliamentary election to a student-led movement that grew out of two years of protests. He said preliminary figures gave the Student List between 135 and 140 of 250 seats, with his party on about 105. Turnout reached record levels. The protests began after a 2024 railway station canopy collapse in Novi Sad killed 16.
