Italy to fine pedestrians using phones while crossing roads from October

Italy's updated highway code will fine pedestrians £64 or more for looking at phones when crossing the road. The new measure, expected by mid-October, aims to reduce serious accidents caused by distracted walking. The highway code also covers other electronic devices but permits hands-free calls and emergency phone use.
