Italy seeks Spain's Schengen suspension after granting 500,000 migrants citizenship
Italy's PM Giorgia Meloni and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani have called for Spain's suspension from the Schengen free travel zone. They argue that Spain's decision to grant citizenship to over 500,000 irregular immigrants encourages human trafficking and poses a national security risk. The call comes after thousands of migrants recently entered the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco, with at least nine people dying.
