Italy refuses Spain’s demand to lift border controls
Spain threatened on Friday to restrict Italian travellers unless Italy lifts border controls it brought in last week. Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said her government won't accept "ultimatums" and will keep suspending Schengen rules for non-EU nationals from Spain until at least August 15. The dispute comes after about 72,000 migrants crossed into Spain's Ceuta enclave last week.
