Israel invites tenders for 1,200 West Bank settlement homes

Israel's housing ministry has issued tenders for 1,234 new settlement homes in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank. Critics say the project would divide the West Bank, isolating East Jerusalem and preventing a future Palestinian state. The tender deadline is 19 October, just before Israel's general election.
