Ireland Announces €755m Package to Ease Fuel Crisis
The Irish government has signed off on two new fuel support schemes following nationwide protests by farmers and hauliers. The Road Transporters Support Scheme covers licensed hauliers and passenger operators, while a separate scheme supports farmers and agricultural contractors. Together with earlier measures including excise cuts and a delayed carbon tax rise, the total support package reaches approximately €755 million.
